Commercial HVAC Outside Sales Representative

About the Opportunity
Cold Temp Solutions is seeking a highly motivated Commercial HVAC Outside Sales Representative to support the continued growth of our HVAC service, controls, retrofit, and preventative maintenance divisions throughout the Bay Area.
This position is designed for a proven sales professional with commercial HVAC experience, strong technical knowledge, and an established network of customer relationships. The ideal candidate will have a passion for customer service, a strong understanding of HVAC systems and controls, and the ability to develop long-term client partnerships.
As part of our growth strategy, Cold Temp Solutions will provide training and support in industrial refrigeration systems, allowing the successful candidate to expand their expertise beyond traditional HVAC applications.
Responsibilities
- Develop new business opportunities and maintain existing customer relationships
- Sell commercial HVAC systems, controls, preventative maintenance agreements, retrofits, and energy-efficiency solutions
- Identify customer needs and provide technically sound recommendations
- Conduct customer meetings, site visits, facility assessments, and project walkthroughs
- Prepare accurate estimates, quotations, proposals, and scope documents
- Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline
- Coordinate projects between customers, service personnel, operations, and office staff
- Deliver exceptional customer service before, during, and after project completion
- Maintain awareness of market trends, customer needs, and competitor activity
- Submit weekly sales reports outlining opportunities, customer feedback, project status, and business development efforts
- Attend a required weekly in-office progress review meeting
QualificationsRequired
- Minimum 3+ years of commercial HVAC sales or related field experience
- Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC equipment and HVAC controls
- Field-based industry experience (not solely office-based or administrative experience)
- Proven ability to accurately estimate and quote HVAC projects
- Existing book of business and customer relationships that can be reviewed and discussed during the interview process
- Strong customer service and relationship-building skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office, estimating software, CRM platforms, and email
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with internal teams
- Valid California driver’s license with clean driving record
Preferred
- Experience selling preventative maintenance agreements
- Experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS)
- Mechanical contracting experience
- Existing commercial and industrial customer relationships within the Bay Area
- Exposure to industrial refrigeration systems
