Janitor / Custodian
Job Type: Part-Time
Pay: $17.00 – $19.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 2:00 PM – 7:00 PM
Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Janitor/Custodian to help maintain a clean, safe, and organized school environment. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work and is committed to maintaining high cleanliness standards for students, staff, and visitors.
Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize classrooms, offices, and common areas
- Maintain restrooms, including restocking supplies and disinfecting surfaces
- Sweep, mop, and maintain hallways, floors, and entryways
- Empty trash and recycling bins throughout the facility
- Clean and maintain kitchen and eating areas
- Assist with cleaning and maintenance of the gymnasium and activity spaces
- Dust furniture, fixtures, and equipment
- Report maintenance issues or safety concerns to management
- Perform deep cleaning during school breaks, including detailed sanitizing, floor care, and larger cleaning projects
Qualifications
- Previous janitorial or custodial experience required
- Ability to work independently and follow cleaning schedules
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and perform physical tasks such as bending, standing, and walking for extended periods
- Reliable, punctual, and professional
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Must speak English
Schedule
- Monday–Friday
- 2:00 PM – 7:00 PM
- Additional hours may be available during school breaks for deep cleaning projects
