Job Overview
We are a growing hospitality group seeking a dynamic and passionate Sous Chef/Line Cook to join our culinary team at our 140-seat mid-market Italian restaurant in Orrville, Ohio. Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook high-quality dishes in accordance with restaurant standards, focusing on fine dining presentation and flavor profiles
- Assist in supervising kitchen staff, including junior team members, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment
- Manage food production processes ensuring consistency across all dishes
- Oversee food safety sanitizing procedures, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the kitchen
- Assist in monitoring and managing inventory levels
- Support catering events and banquet services by coordinating food preparation and ensuring timely delivery
- Lead shift management activities such as scheduling, delegating tasks, and maintaining smooth kitchen operations during busy periods
Skills
- Extensive culinary experience with a focus on mid-market and fine dining food presentation techniques, preferably including significant experience with Italian cuisine
- Proven line experience in a fast-paced, high volume environment
- Knowledge of inventory control, cost management, and food production processes
- Excellent team management skills with the ability to motivate and lead diverse kitchen teams
- Skilled in food handling, cooking techniques, and kitchen management practices within the food industry
- Familiarity with restaurant operations including shift management, food service management, and hospitality standards
- Ability to maintain composure under pressure while ensuring high-quality service delivery
- Experience with hand-stretched pizza and deck oven cooking
- Additional experience in front of the house operations is a plus for supporting overall guest experience
