American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Acute Inpatient Rehab unit requiring a CA RN license and prior acute rehab experience.
-
Work in a 10-bed Acute Rehabilitation Unit within a hospital setting
-
Care for patients ranging from pediatric to geriatric populations, with a primary focus on adults and geriatrics
-
Patient ratio of 1:5
-
Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 18:45 to 07:15
-
13-week assignment length
-
Float to MCU/Tele department as needed
-
Any charting system experience accepted, preferred but not required
-
Active CA RN license required
-
Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
-
PALS certification preferred
-
Minimum 1 year of experience in an acute rehab care setting required, 2 years overall acute care experience preferred

Experience with IV therapy, blood product administration, and port care
-
Skilled in anticoagulation, antiseizure, and diuretic medication management
-
Experience with orthopedic care including assistive devices, mobilization techniques, and suture/staple removal
-
Wound care, pressure ulcer assessment/prevention, and specialty bed experience required
-
Feeding tube and PEG tube management, swallowing precautions, and thickened liquids experience required
-
Respiratory care skills including incentive spirometry, suctioning, pulse oximetry, and supplemental oxygen delivery
-
2 supervisor references obtained within the past year required for consideration

Manage the patient/family experience through critical thinking, teamwork, effective communication, and nursing judgment
-
Provide direct and indirect nursing care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
-
Direct activities of ancillary staff while managing assigned patient care
-
Collaborate with nursing peers, physicians, and allied support services to deliver comprehensive care
-
Provide individualized, goal-directed nursing care from admission through discharge
-
Perform diabetic teaching, fall risk assessment/prevention, infection prevention, and pain assessment/management
-
Utilize lift/transfer devices and adhere to isolation precautions and PPE protocols
-
Holiday coverage required for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day, with only 1 holiday RTO request approved per contract

Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract

Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius at the local rate

Returning employees must have a 1-year separation before returning as a traveler
