Father’s Heart Ranch has a full-time position available for an Maintenance Worker/ Handyman w/2 years experience. This is a Children's Residential facility for boys ages 6-12 years.
Under the direct supervision of the CEO, the Maintenance Worker/ Handyman will performs a wide variety of task that support the overall goals and objectives of the organization.
- Perform minor repairs
- Keep interior and exterior or vehicles clean and well maintained
- Ensure that any repairs to vehicles are done in a timely manner.
- Check control panels and electrical wiring to identify issues
- Install appliances and equipment
- Collecting trash etc.
- Conduct maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs
- Maintain, service, clean and properly store equipment
- Check functionality of safety systems (e.g. fire alarm)
- Conduct quarterly safety drills
- Inspect and repair all damages to buildings interior and exterior surfaces
- Participate in different projects (e.g. renovations)
- Report to a facilities or maintenance manager for issues
- Ensure adherence to quality standards and health and safety regulations
- Perform other related duties and activities as requiredIn this extremely busy setting, the ideal candidate will move with ease from one task to next.
Qualifications
Education:
- High School Diploma is necessary
- B.A. Degree or a minimum of one-year experience in a licensed Children's Residential Facility or STRTP facility preferred.
Experience:
- 2 years Previous working experience as a Maintenance Worker
- Bachelor's Degree Preferred
- Certification of apprenticeship
- In knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems
- Hand on experience with hand and electrical tools
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Manual dexterity and physical stamina
- Tracking data and document
Essential functions:
- Ability to follow directions and to provide feedback regarding the need for repairs and or replacements to keep facility usable
- Provide assistance to co-workers when needed.
- Adhere to company policies, safety regulations and OSHA requirements.
- Respond to inquiries made in person, by mail and by telephone,
- Ensuring that direct care staff have the appropriate and updated documents in the houses and in all vehicles
- Maintaining confidential information
- Conduct safety checks on grounds and structures
Other duties:
- Assist with client when necessary
Requirements:
- Individual must be able to successfully complete a background clearance with the Department of Justice and CCL
- Must be reliable and consistent with attendance and punctuality to work
Proof of valid driver's license and vehicle insurance
TB test, CPR/First Aid
Must attend monthly staff meetings/trainings
Must have excellent customer service skills

Pay: $19.50 - $30.00 per hour
