Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Dental Assistant to join our vibrant dental team. Duties
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of dental assistants and support staff to ensure efficient clinic operations
- Assist dentists during various procedures, including chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques
- Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and maintain aseptic techniques to uphold infection control standards
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray), operate 3D scanners, and perform vital signs assessments for patients of all ages
- Manage electronic medical records (EMR systems) such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, and Epic to ensure accurate medical documentation and coding
- Educate patients on dental procedures, post-treatment care, and oral health best practices, including pediatric dentistry considerations
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy and confidentiality
- Support administrative duties such as scheduling appointments with the dental receptionist and managing patient flow efficiently
Qualifications
- Proven experience in dental assisting within a busy dental clinic environment, including general dentistry and pediatric dentistry settings
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques
- Proficiency with Dentrix and Dexis is a plus
- Ability to operate X-ray equipment safely and accurately; experience with 3D scanners preferred
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages and collaborate with the dental team
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure compliance with patient privacy standards
- Ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
