American Traveler is seeking an experienced ED RN for a Level 2 trauma emergency department role in McKinney, TX, requiring TNCC certification and strong patient experience skills.

Work setting is a 37-bed, Level 2 Trauma Emergency Department within a hospital
-
Coverage includes both the Main ED and Pediatric Bed (PBED) areas
-
Patient ratio is 1:4 within assigned zone
-
GE Monitors are used for patient monitoring

EMR system is MediTech
-
Primary shift is 10:00 AM – 10:00 PM; candidates should be willing to occasionally work varying day-to-mid shifts (e.g., 6 AM, 9 AM, 11 AM starts)

4 weekend shifts per 4-week period required
-
No on-call responsibilities
-
Floating may occur to accommodate ED patients admitted and holding in the ED

Active TX RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand
-
Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI (or accepted equivalent: SAMA, MAB, or ACPMA), and NIH Stroke Scale

All certifications must be from AHA or ARC and must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start

Minimum 1 year of recent ED RN experience required

US SSN and date of birth required for consideration

No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible for this position

One professional reference is required (two required if licensed in Florida or Missouri)

Time off will not be approved from mid-June through July

Royal blue scrub top and bottom are required

High-energy, self-motivated, and personable candidates are the best fit for this team

Team staffing includes a charge RN, 7 staff RNs, 2 Techs/Paramedics, and 5 mid-shift RNs per shift
