Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Therapist/MSW (Master of Social Work) to join our dynamic educational team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive mental health and behavioral support to students within the school environment. Your expertise will help foster a safe, inclusive, and nurturing space where children and adolescents can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. You will collaborate closely with educators, families, and community resources to implement evidence-based interventions that address a wide range of mental health needs, including trauma-informed care, behavioral management, and developmental support. Duties
- Would have weekly educational group sessions in our self-contained behavior classroom.
- Work with our students with a disability who may be in crisis and/or may not have an outside therapist.
- See individual students with disabilities per their IEP
- Provide and assist in staff debriefing as needed
- Assist with parent counseling as needed
- Assist with staff mental health training and positive behavioral supports
- Any other educational mental health consulting deemed appropriate and agreed upon between the therapist and Director of Special Education
Experience
- Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution with current licensure or certification as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or equivalent.
- Proven experience working with children and adolescents in educational or clinical settings; prior school experience is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated expertise in addiction counseling, trauma-informed care, applied behavior analysis (ABA), and working with individuals with disabilities or developmental delays such as autism spectrum disorder.
- Skilled in crisis management techniques
- Ability to utilize social work documentation tools effectively while maintaining compliance with confidentiality standards under HIPAA regulations.
