We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead day-to-day manufacturing operations at our Canfield, Ohio facility. This role is responsible for driving safety, quality, productivity, delivery, and cost performance while developing a strong, accountable production team.
The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience across operations, maintenance, and tooling. This is a highly engaged leadership role for someone who is comfortable on the manufacturing floor, can troubleshoot equipment issues, and has the technical ability to repair, modify, and support the development of tooling.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily manufacturing operations to achieve safety, quality, production, delivery, and cost objectives.
- Provide hands-on leadership and direction to production employees and support teams.
- Plan and coordinate production activities to meet customer requirements and schedules.
- Monitor production performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, throughput, quality, and reliability.
- Troubleshoot manufacturing equipment and work with maintenance resources to resolve equipment issues and minimize downtime.
- Perform or coordinate tooling repairs, modifications, and preventative maintenance.
- Support the design, development, fabrication, and implementation of new tooling and fixtures.
- Partner with engineering, maintenance, quality, and other functions to resolve production and process issues.
- Identify root causes of equipment, tooling, quality, and production problems and implement sustainable corrective actions.
- Ensure employees follow established safety procedures, work instructions, quality standards, and operating practices.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on waste reduction, productivity, quality, and cost.
- Support employee training, development, performance management, and accountability.
- Manage staffing levels, schedules, overtime, and other resources to support production requirements.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe manufacturing environment.
- Monitor operating costs and identify opportunities to improve the efficient use of labor, materials, equipment, and resources.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in operations, Manufacturing, Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent manufacturing experience will be considered.
- 5+ years of progressive manufacturing/operations experience, with demonstrated leadership responsibility.
- Strong hands-on experience with manufacturing equipment, maintenance, and tooling.
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and manufacturing equipment and determine appropriate corrective action.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, production scheduling, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop production employees in a hands-on manufacturing environment.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and manufacturing/ERP systems.
