Senior Manufacturing Engineer
Who are we?

With its family ownership, Daher has been focused on innovation since its creation in 1863. With locations in 15 countries across Europe, North America and Asia, Daher designs and develops value-added solutions for its aeronautical and industrial customers and partners
Kodiak Aircraft is seeking a highly capable Senior Manufacturing Engineer to help turn aircraft design intent into repeatable, efficient, and controlled manufacturing execution.
This role sits at the intersection of Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Production, Quality, Tooling, Supply Chain, ERP, and cost. You will improve how the aircraft is built by strengthening methods, sequencing, manufacturing documentation, tooling needs, and design-for-manufacturing feedback.
This is more than a support role. It is an ownership role for someone who can work side-by-side with mechanics, solve root-cause production issues, and improve a low-rate, high-complexity aircraft production system.
Why this role matters: better manufacturing methods, clearer build sequences, practical tooling, and stronger DFM decisions reduce rework, labor hours, and build inconsistency while protecting production execution.
What Makes This Role Senior:
Senior means ownership, judgment, and credibility. We are looking for someone who can independently diagnose production constraints, connect design, manufacturing, quality, ERP, and cost, and drive practical improvements through completion rather than applying short-term patches.
Primary Role and Responsibilities:
-
Work directly with mechanics and production teams to solve real build problems and make processes clear, ergonomic, and executable.
-
Redesign build sequences, work content, and line flow across fabrication, subassembly, and final assembly where needed.
-
Perform DFM analysis using CAD models and engineering drawings, and translate design intent into efficient manufacturing methods.
-
Author manufacturing prints or models that ease production while remaining traceable to type design and within fit, form, and function.
-
Build and present the case for type design changes when manufacturing documentation alone is not sufficient.
-
Reduce labor hours, rework, bottlenecks, and recurring production friction through better methods, sequencing, tooling, and ERP alignment.
What you need to have:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
-
10+ years of manufacturing engineering experience, preferably in aerospace or complex assembly.
-
Strong hands-on understanding of machining, sheet metal, welding, composites, and mechanical or electrical assembly.
-
Strong CAD proficiency and fluency reading engineering drawings, including GD&T per ASME Y14.5.
-
Demonstrated experience with DFM analysis and manufacturing-specific documentation distinct from type design documentation.
-
Solid ERP experience such as Epicor or SAP, including eBOM/mBOM reconciliation and routings.
-
Proven ability to fix problems at the root, make systems simpler and more robust, and drive projects through completion.
Preferred:
-
Experience in general aviation or low-rate high-mix aerospace production, introducing manufacturing print or DFM practices to an existing product, AS9100 or FAA/FAR Part 23 manufacturing environments, and supplier manufacturability or delivery issue resolution.
