Job Description: Senior Tax Associate
Responsibilities:
● High level of client communication and service maintaining a 2 business day response time
● Manage work (Tax Pipelines) of direct reports, identifying overdue tasks and stale jobs
● Gather, organize, and accurately prepare and/or review Federal and state tax returns for high net-worth individuals, real estate investors, and closely held businesses (i.e., corporate, partnership, and LLC)
● Review staff member work papers and provide feedback to ensure completeness and accuracy
● Mentor and train associates to develop technical and professional skills
● Prepare and review estimated tax/extension calculations for various entities and individual clients
● Research tax issues and draft technical correspondence, including communication with the IRS and other taxing authorities
● Review of client Quickbooks and financial statements; prepare and review adjusting journal entries
● Recommend other firm services to the benefit of the client. Ex: bookkeeping services, tax advisory etc.
● Hold phone calls or Zoom meetings with clients to discuss their tax situation or returns
Required Education and Experience:
● Bachelor's or Master's in accounting from an accredited college or university
● Working knowledge of tax preparation software, with specific experience in CCH Axcess preferred
● 2+ years of experience preparing 1040s, 1065s, and 1120-S tax returns
● 1 to 3 years of experience reviewing 1040s, 1065s, and 1120-S tax returns
● Experience preparing and reviewing returns for large partnerships and their K-1s
● Experience preparing and reviewing Schedule E, Form 8825, Schedule L and M
● Experience calculating improvement basis for real estate acquisitions
● Experience preparing and reviewing multiple state tax returns
● Experience with client resolution and tax planning
● Experience with Form 3115 and 481(a) adjustments
● Experience navigating IRC Sec. 469
● CPA or EA certification preferred

Salary + Benefits:
● $70,000 to $95,000 base compensation (DOE), plus bonus
