Food Expeditor (Front of House)
Compensation: $20–$23 per hour (including tips)
Schedule
- 25–30 hours per week
- Evening shifts, approximately 4:15 PM–10:30 PM
- Shifts may occasionally run later depending on business levels and the pace of service.
- Weekend and holiday availability is required.
About the Role
Chez Rosa is looking for a highly organized, energetic Food Expeditor to be the connection between our kitchen and dining room. This is one of the most important positions in the restaurant, ensuring every dish leaves the kitchen accurately, beautifully presented, and at the perfect time.
As a Food Expeditor, you'll help orchestrate the flow of service by communicating with both the culinary and front-of-house teams, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring every guest receives an exceptional dining experience. Responsibilities
- Coordinate communication between the kitchen and front-of-house team to ensure smooth, efficient service.
- Inspect every plate before it leaves the kitchen for accuracy, presentation, temperature, and quality.
- Organize tickets and coordinate the timing of courses so each table is served together.
- Run food to guests promptly while confidently describing dishes when appropriate.
- Clearly communicate allergies, modifications, and special requests with the kitchen and service team.
- Assist with clearing and resetting tables as needed to support overall restaurant operations.
- Help maintain a clean, organized expo line and dining room throughout service.
- Work closely with servers, bartenders, support staff, and chefs to keep service running efficiently during busy periods.
- Jump in wherever needed to support the team and provide an outstanding guest experience.
Qualifications
- Previous front-of-house restaurant experience is required.
- Experience as an expeditor, server, food runner, or other support role is preferred.
- Outstanding organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both kitchen and front-of-house teams.
- Ability to multitask while remaining calm and organized in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of food safety, restaurant service standards, and hospitality best practices.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and carry multiple plates or trays safely.
