Duties
- Diagnose and repair HVAC systems, including refrigeration, air conditioning units, boilers, and related mechanical equipment using schematics and technical manuals.
- Install new HVAC systems in accordance with design specifications and safety standards, ensuring optimal performance.
- Conduct routine maintenance on HVAC equipment to prevent breakdowns and extend system lifespan.
- Utilize tools such as ohmmeters and welding equipment to troubleshoot electrical issues and perform repairs effectively.
- Read and interpret schematics, HVAC design plans, plumbing diagrams, and control systems to ensure precise installation and repairs.
- Perform field service operations including appliance repair, property maintenance tasks, and ammonia refrigeration system servicing.
- Maintain detailed service records, logs, and reports for all work performed; communicate effectively with team members and clients about system status.
- Operate a <PERSON> driver vehicle responsibly for on-site visits or parts delivery as needed.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols during all maintenance activities; handle refrigerants like ammonia with proper precautions.
Experience
- Proven experience as an HVAC technician or service technician working on commercial systems.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning / Refrigeration) systems including refrigeration cycles and air conditioning principles.
- Hands-on experience with plumbing systems related to HVAC setups; familiarity with boiler operation is a plus.
- Ability to read schematics, technical drawings, and HVAC design plans accurately.
- Skilled in the use of diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters for electrical troubleshooting; capable of performing equipment repair using welding techniques when necessary.
- Experience working in field service environments with property maintenance responsibilities; previous appliance repair experience is advantageous
- Mechanical or construction background combined with mechanic experience enhances your ability to handle diverse maintenance tasks confidently.
