Responsibilities
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) that align with each student’s unique needs and goals.
- Design engaging lesson plans incorporating curriculum development, educational technology integration, literacy education, math, and other core subjects tailored for students with disabilities.
- Utilize behavior management strategies and behavioral therapy techniques to support positive classroom behaviors and social skills development.
- Collaborate closely with speech therapists, occupational therapists, counselors, parents, and other professionals to coordinate comprehensive student support plans.
- Adapt instructional modifications and accommodations to meet diverse learning styles and ensure accessibility for all students.
- Conduct ongoing assessments, including standardized testing and progress monitoring, to evaluate student growth and inform instruction.
- Maintain detailed documentation of student progress, IEP goals, behavioral interventions, and communication logs for compliance and reporting purposes.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Special Education, 7-12 Education with a focus on special needs, or a related field; advanced certifications preferred.
- Valid teaching certification/license for special education or equivalent credentials.
- Proven classroom experience working with students with disabilities, including autism spectrum disorders and developmental disabilities.
- Strong knowledge of special education law, IEP development process, instructional modifications, and behavior management techniques.
- Experience working with individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders and implementing early intervention strategies.
- Excellent communication skills for effective parent-teacher collaboration and team coordination.
- Familiarity with assistive technologies, literacy education tools, and educational software to enhance learning experiences.
- Demonstrated ability to manage classroom behavior effectively while fostering a supportive learning environment.

Pay: From $65,000.00 per year
