Hudson Valley Swim has been teaching students of all ages how to swim safely and confidently for over 20 years. Our mission: Swim lessons saves lives. We are seeking dedicated Swim Instructors to join our growing Jacksonville, FL team.
The Role
As a Swim Instructor, you’ll help students build water safety skills, confidence and strong swimming foundations in a fun and supportive environment. Instructor start part time with a combination of weekday morning and afternoon and/or weekend classes depending on availability and program needs, with opportunities for additional hours as enrollment grows.
Responsibilities
- Teach swim lessons to students of all ages and skill levels — from 4 months to adults
- Follow Hudson Valley Swim's structured lesson plans while maintaining a fun and safe learning environment
- Track student progress to ensure proper placement and skill advancement
- Provide excellent customer service and communication with clients and families
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance instructional skills.
Additional opportunities may include:
- Administrative support and community marketing
Qualifications
- 2-3 years experience as a Swim Instructor (including with infants and young children) is required
- Lifeguard/First Aid/CPR Certification(s) preferred (but can be obtained during training)
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Strong communication skills with the ability to manage behavior effectively in a group setting.
- A genuine love for teaching and helping others improve their skills in swimming and water safety skills.
- Availability for weekday mornings and afternoons and weekend day shifts
Compensation
$18–20/hour based on experience, certifications, teaching ability, and availability.
