Position Overview
CPS is seeking a Pharmacy Technician (certified or willing to become certified) to support our correctional and long-term care pharmacy operations. This role includes prescription order entry, packaging assistance, facility communication, and workflow support.
Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, dependable, and comfortable working in a high-volume, accuracy-driven environment where timing and precision are critical.
Hours of Operation:
Monday–Saturday: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Work Schedule:
Team members rotate between:
- 6:00 AM – 3:00 PM
- 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Primary Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Prescription order entry and insurance processing (where applicable)
- Assist with accurate medication filling and strip packaging workflows
- Maintain accuracy standards required for correctional and LTC environments
- Support daily cycle-fill operations
- Comply with state and federal regulations, including HIPAA and PHI
- Communicate professionally with facility nursing staff, providers, and internal teams
- Make outbound/inbound calls regarding orders, clarifications, packaging needs, or refills
- Contact prescribers for refill authorization when permitted
- Assist with perpetual inventory management and incoming stock
- Track packaging consumables and coordinate replenishment
- Support workflow documentation and operational procedures
- Coordinate with delivery partners to ensure accurate, on-time facility shipments
- Excellent communication and customer-service skills
- Fast and accurate typing skills with a proactive mindset
- Ability to prioritize, multitask, and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Function effectively both independently and within a team
- Knowledge of LTC/correctional pharmacy operations is a plus
Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30.0 – 40.0 per week
