About The WAVE Coalition
WAVE is a 501(c)3 nonprofit startup dedicated to environmental conservation, research, advocacy, Animal Welfare, and education. WAVE stands for Wildlife, Action, Vision, and Education, our 4 values under which WAVE operates. Some of the current programs we offer are Clean Ups, Webinars, Class Workshops, and Community Teach-In events, but we are working on grants that would establish more programs, like a live-streaming underwater marine science workshop, an animal mobile education unit, and a wildlife data collection monitoring program! We have lots of ideas, and we are excited to keep growing!
This is a startup, and therefore, we are looking for those who are interested in helping the nonprofit grow as you grow your own experience. Which means, all ideas are welcome, your thoughts matter, and your plans are the best ones!
Role Overview
Board Members of The WAVE Coalition serve as governing leaders and active contributors during the organization’s startup phase. In addition to fiduciary and governance responsibilities, current Board Members are expected to assist in the operational functions of the nonprofit, including, but not limited to, planning and hosting events, social media, managing volunteers, and more.
Responsibilities:
Governance oversight for the nonprofit
Uphold WAVE's missions
Strategic development and decision-making
Participate in Board Meetings, All-staff meetings, and special meetings as needed
Assist in grant-writing and fundraising efforts
Contribute to hands-on support
All other tasks as needed

There are no required skills/experience for this role since this is a startup! We want to build you up and help you grow your experience while you help us grow!
This position works on your own schedule, and you can do a few or as many hours as you'd like! Because we are still in the building stage, we truly want someone who can help our little team grow not only our nonprofit but also has that passion!
Pay: $1.00 per hour
