Job Title: Retail Shift Manager
Location: Cary, IL
Hours: 24 hours/week
Schedule Requirements
The Retail Shift Manager position requires availability during store hours:
- Monday–Friday: 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
- Saturday: 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
- Sunday: Closed
The selected candidate will be expected to work every other Saturday and assist with opening and closing store operations as needed.
Join our Cary Nest retail team! We're seeking a Retail Shift Manager to oversee daily store operations, coach team members, and ensure an exceptional shopping experience while supporting our nonprofit mission.

Core Responsibilities of the Retail Shift Manager:
- Provide outstanding customer and donor service, creating a welcoming shopping experience.
- Lead and support staff and volunteers throughout each shift.
- Open and/or close the store while ensuring safe and efficient daily operations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing sales floor and work areas.
- Accurately complete sales transactions, prepare deposits, and maintain daily records.
- Assist with merchandising, stocking, and processing incoming donations.
- Communicate effectively with store leadership and team members to support daily operations.
- Take on additional duties and special projects as assigned.
We're Looking For Someone Who Has:
- Previous supervisory or team leadership experience; retail experience preferred.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- A high school diploma or GED.
- The ability to lift up to 50 pounds and remain on your feet throughout the shift.
Physical Demands:
- Frequent balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and reaching
- Ability to safely move or handle merchandise up to 50 pounds
- Extended periods of sitting, standing, and walking required
