GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION Reports to: Social Services Director
Position Title: Recreation Coordinator Position Status: Essential
Home/Life Services Inc. established in 1995, is a community-based, human services organization committed to improving the economic and social health of families impacted by homelessness. Operating from a client centered perspective, Home/Life provides a safe and therapeutic environment that supports the social and economic independence of its families served. By developing and implementing innovative services and programs within our Families with Children’s facilities, we provide case management and job counseling, as well as help our families access the economic housing support that allows them to enter and stay in permanent housing.
Under the direction of the Security Director, The Recreation Coordinator is responsible for planning and organizing the operations, services, staff, and activities of the assigned on-site recreation area.
The responsibilities of the Recreation Coordinator include but not limited to:
- Provides communication and written documentation regarding all recreation program areas and facility activities
- Assists Social Services in client’s cases as needed
- Taking NAS photos upon client intake
- Conducts workshops with clients including arts and crafts, team building exercises, general exercise and reading groups.
- Oversees the development of a diversified recreation programs and services for all ages in accordance with the community needs.
- Participates in Community Outreach
- Performs routine facility maintenance such as set up tables, chairs, equipment, supplies.
- Monitors inventory and orders supplies
- Coordinates all staff parties, meetings and events which include decorating and cleaning up
- In the event of an emergency, Essential Employees are required to report to work as scheduled
- Duties and responsibilities are subject to change based upon assessment of company needs.
- Conducting wellness checks three times per week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) for new mothers and children in cribs.
