Alum Rock Counseling Center (ARCC) is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Therapist/Clinician II to provide mental health services to children, youth, and families through our School Based Outpatient Program (SBOP) in East and Central San Jose.
In partnership with local school districts, ARCC’s SBOP program provides accessible, evidence-based mental health support designed to help youth overcome barriers that impact their academic success, emotional well-being, and family wellness. Our team works with high-risk youth and families to provide early intervention, therapeutic support, and resources that promote resilience and positive outcomes.
Under the supervision of the SBOP Program Manager, the Therapist/Clinician II provides Medi-Cal appropriate specialty mental health services, including intensive outpatient and wellness services, to children, adolescents, and families with diverse needs. The clinician supports youth experiencing challenges such as depression, anxiety, trauma, substance use, school attendance concerns, gang involvement, and other behavioral health challenges.
The ideal candidate is passionate about working with youth and families, values culturally and linguistically responsive care, and is committed to creating safe, supportive spaces where young people can thrive. This role requires flexibility and may include travel to various school sites throughout the service area to ensure youth receive care where they are most comfortable and connected.

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated mental health professional who is committed to providing high-quality, culturally responsive care to children, youth, and families. The ideal candidate brings clinical knowledge, strong communication skills, and a passion for supporting young people and communities through collaborative, evidence-based services.
Minimum qualifications and preferred experience include:

Master’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or a related field from an accredited college or university.

Current registration with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) as an Associate Social Worker (ASW), Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT), or Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC) is required.

Experience working with diverse ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

Experience providing services in diverse settings, including community-based, school-based, or clinical environments.

Bilingual skills in Spanish/English or Vietnamese/English are preferred.

Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with youth, families, school partners, and community members.

Computer proficiency and ability to use electronic documentation and communication systems.

Ability to work independently while also contributing positively as part of a collaborative team.

Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
Additional Requirements:

Successful completion of fingerprinting and background checks as required by the Department of Justice.

Valid California driver’s license, reliable transportation for agency-related travel, and proof of current auto insurance.

Current TB clearance, renewed every four years or as required.
