American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift hospital position requiring at least 1.5 years of experience and an IN or compact RN license.

Work in the Medical Surgical unit of a hospital setting
-
13-week assignment on night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:30
-
Uses Cerner charting system
-
Floating required within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital

Does not accept local candidates for this position

Active RN license (IN or Compact) required, must be in hand prior to start date

Current certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)

Minimum 1.5 years of Med/Surg nursing experience required

Nursing degree must be from a university accredited by ACEN or CCNE at time of graduation

Skills required include IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, central line blood draw, peripheral line care/management, PICC line management, starting and maintaining IVs, feeding tube care and management, heparin administration, and respiratory care including High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC) and nasal cannula

2 supervisor references required

Provide direct patient care within a Medical Surgical unit

Candidates must work 2 out of 3 major holidays

Up to 5 days of non-holiday RTO can be auto-approved; additional time off requires facility approval

Any previous permanent or PRN employee of the health system must be away for 12 months before applying as a traveler

Current or past travelers with 12 months of accrued travel employment within the health system must take a consecutive break to reset eligibility: 90 days for out-of-state residents or 180 days for in-state residents
