Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes.
- Assist with menu planning and food production to meet daily service needs and special dietary requirements
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety sanitizing procedures and food safety management protocols
- Support dietary department operations by assisting with meal preparation for different dietary needs and ensuring proper food handling practices
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to execute high-volume production efficiently while maintaining quality standards
- Serving meals that meet client specifications and presentation standards
- Ensure all kitchen equipment is properly maintained, cleaned, and sanitized following established procedures
Experience
- Previous dietary department or dietary aide experience preferred, with a strong understanding of food safety protocols
- Proven culinary experience in restaurant or food industry settings, including fine dining or high-volume kitchens
- Skilled in various cooking techniques such as poaching, braising, grilling, and food preparation methods
- Demonstrated knife skills and proficiency in food handling for meal preparation and presentation
- Experience with food safety sanitizing procedures and food safety management systems
- Familiarity with menu planning, catering, serving, and kitchen operations within a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail and quality standards
