Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Steel Packager and Laborer to join our manufacturing team. In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for efficiently packaging steel products while supporting various labor tasks across the production floor. Duties
- Follow the package guidance sheets to understand customer requirements.
- Package material produced off the laser blanking lines per the packaging guidance sheets and company quality standards.
- Notify proper parties if a safety issue, quality issue and or production issue has occurred.
- Verify full lift via scale and tag the material produced off the laser blanking lines with the proper identification.
- Operator a forklift.
- Be courteous and represent BWD professionally when speaking with customers and/or carriers at all times.
- Operate forklifts and other industrial equipment following safety standards in production environments
- Assist laser blanking operators with removal of scrap and communicates with CIS on all scrap hopper changes.
- Verifies quality of blanks meet visual inspection prior to placing into FG.
- Performs 5’S check sheet and maintains a clean work area.
Experience
- Prior experience in manufacturing facilities or warehouse environments is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate
- Mechanical knowledge or experience with industrial equipment troubleshooting is advantageous
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage time efficiently with little supervision.
- Ability to read and understand packaging requirements.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during packaging and materials handling tasks
- Experience operating hand tools, forklifts, or other warehouse equipment is desirable
- Strong work ethic with a focus on safety, quality, and teamwork in fast-paced settings

Pay: $19.00 - $28.00 per hour
