We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Quality Technician to join our manufacturing team. The Quality Technician is responsible for ensuring that products meet customer specifications and company quality standards through inspections, testing, auditing, and documentation. This position works closely with Production, Engineering, and Quality personnel to identify and resolve quality concerns while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Essential Responsibilities
- Set up PPAP documentation, control Plans, FMEA, Flow Diagrams, dimensional reports
- Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, specifications, and control plans.
- Identify nonconforming material and initiate appropriate containment activities.
- Assist with root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality issues.
- Support production by responding to quality concerns in a timely manner.
- Verify product conformity according to customer requirements and internal procedures.
- Assist in maintaining calibration records and ensure inspection equipment is properly calibrated.
- Participate in customer, internal, and third-party audits as needed.
- Maintain compliance with IATF 16949, ISO quality standards, and company procedures.
- Promote a safe and organized work environment.
- Support continuous improvement projects to reduce defects and improve manufacturing processes.
Qualifications
Education
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Must have automotive background and understand how to build Control plans, FMEAS and Flow Diagrams
- Must be able to show that training in core tools has been completed
Experience
- 2+ years of quality inspection experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Automotive manufacturing experience is a must.
- Experience with progressive stamping or metal forming is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
- Understanding of GD&T principles.
- Experience using precision measuring instruments.
- Knowledge of SPC, Control plans, PFMEA, and inspection techniques.
- Ability to write Corrective Actions and communicate with the customer.
- Familiarity with IATF 16949 quality systems is preferred.
- Internal auditor skills for IATF a plus
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements
- Stand and walk for extended periods.
- Lift up to 35 pounds.
- Perform repetitive hand movements while handling parts and measuring equipment.
- Ability to occasionally bend, stoop, and reach.
- Work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, machinery, and varying temperatures.
Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
