Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Sign Maker / Installer/ Handyman specializing in vinyl signage and field installations. In this role, you will be responsible for creating high-quality custom signs and ensuring their precise installation across various locations. Your expertise will help bring visual branding to life, making a lasting impression for clients and customers alike. Responsibilities
- Cut, shape, and assemble vinyl signs using specialized tools and equipment to meet client specifications.
- Apply vinyl graphics accurately onto different surfaces, ensuring durability and visual appeal.
- Prepare surfaces thoroughly before installation to guarantee adhesion and longevity.
- Install signs at various field locations, including storefronts, vehicles, or outdoor environments, following safety protocols.
- Use measurement tools and technical skills to ensure precise placement and alignment of signage.
- Conduct routine maintenance on tools and equipment to maintain optimal working condition.
- Communicate effectively with team members and clients to coordinate installation schedules and address any site-specific requirements.
Requirements
- 1–3 years experience in sign installation (vinyl + exterior signage)
- Comfortable working high above ground
- Comfortable using and working from:
- Bucket truck / boom lift
- Scissor lift
- Forklift (shop/jobsite as needed)
- Strong safety mindset and jobsite awareness
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites
- Able to lift/carry typical install materials
Skills
- Proficiency in operating sign-making tools, including vinyl cutters, squeegees, and applicators.
- Experience with vinyl application techniques on multiple surfaces such as glass, metal, plastic, or textured materials.
- Ability to read technical drawings or layouts for accurate sign production and placement.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality craftsmanship.
- Knowledge of safety procedures related to field installations and equipment handling.
- Familiarity with using an ohmmeter for electrical testing when necessary during certain sign projects.
- Excellent problem-solving skills to adapt quickly to different installation environments and challenges.
