About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Meat Operational Manager to oversee our meat production operations. This role is responsible for ensuring high-quality production, maintaining food safety standards, managing team performance, and driving operational efficiency. The ideal candidate has strong leadership abilities, hands-on experience in meat processing, and a deep understanding of USDA/HACCP regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily meat processing, portioning, packaging, and distribution operations
- Maintain product quality, yield standards, and consistent production output
- Ensure full compliance with HACCP, USDA, and company food safety policies
- Train, mentor, and supervise production staff and butchers
- Develop and manage production schedules based on demand
- Control waste, track yields, and monitor inventory levels
- Enforce sanitation, safe handling, and equipment operation protocols
- Maintain accurate production records and compliance documentation
- Collaborate with procurement and operations to maintain steady raw material supply
- Identify and implement process improvements for efficiency and cost savings
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience in meat processing or food production
- Supervisory or management experience required
- Strong knowledge of USDA, HACCP, and food safety standards
- Ability to lead and train staff in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Experience working with production equipment and yield management
- Comfortable working in refrigerated environments
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed
- Ability to stand for long periods
- Ability to work in cold environments
Pay: $45,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
