POSITION SUMMARY
Volvo Gilbert is seeking a professional, dependable, and customer-focused Automotive Service Valet to join our Service Department.
The Service Valet plays an important role in creating exceptional customer experience by greeting service customers, safely handling their vehicles, and supporting the efficient flow of vehicles throughout the Service Department. As one of the first and last team members our customers may interact with during their service visit, the Service Valet is expected to provide friendly, courteous, and professional service consistent with the standards of Volvo Gilbert.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Greet customers promptly, professionally, and courteously as they arrive in the service drive.
- Assist customers with vehicle drop-off and direct them to the appropriate Service Advisor.
- Safely move, park, stage, and retrieve customer vehicles.
- Maintain an organized and efficient flow of vehicles throughout the service drive and designated parking areas.
- Assist Service Advisors and Technicians with locating and transporting vehicles.
- Perform a visual walk-around of vehicles when appropriate and immediately report any visible damage or concerns before moving the vehicle.
- Handle all customer vehicles with care and respect.
- Place and remove protective seat covers, floor mats, steering wheel covers, or other vehicle protection materials as required.
- Prepare completed vehicles for customer pickup and ensure vehicles are properly staged.
- Maintain accurate control of vehicle keys and follow dealership key-management procedures.
- Assist with maintaining a clean, organized, and professional service drive and customer arrival area.
- Keep service lanes and parking areas clear to support safe and efficient vehicle traffic.
- Provide customers with directions or assistance while on dealership property.
- Immediately report accidents, vehicle damage, safety concerns, or unusual incidents to management.
- Follow all dealership safety policies and procedures when operating customer or company vehicles.
- Maintain appropriate driving speeds and operate all vehicles responsibly while on dealership property.
- Provide additional support to the Service Department as business needs require.
- May work indoors or outdoors and be exposed to vehicle traffic, varying temperatures, noise, and typical automotive workplace conditions.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record required.
- Ability to safely operate a variety of customer and dealership vehicles.
- Previous valet, automotive, or customer service experience preferred but not required.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Professional appearance, communication, and demeanor.
- Dependable and punctual with a strong commitment to attendance.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Must successfully complete required pre-employment screening in accordance with company policy.
