Certified Wound Care Nurse Practitioner (1099 Independent Contractor)Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated, compassionate, and experienced Certified Wound Care Nurse Practitioner to join our growing mobile wound care team as a 1099 Independent Contractor. In this role, you will provide comprehensive wound care services through scheduled home visits to patients throughout the Dallas–Fort Worth (DFW) Metroplex.
You will assess, treat, and manage patients with acute and chronic wounds while utilizing advanced wound care techniques and evidence-based practices to promote healing and improve patient outcomes. This position offers autonomy in the field while being supported by a dedicated administrative and clinical team.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive wound assessments during scheduled home visits.
- Accurately measure and document wound dimensions, including length, width, depth, tunneling, and undermining (when applicable) at every patient visit to monitor healing progress.
- Obtain and document wound photographs in accordance with company policies and clinical protocols.
- Develop and implement individualized wound care treatment plans based on evidence-based practices.
- Perform routine wound care, sharp debridement (within scope of practice), dressing changes, Arobella® ultrasonic wound debridement, and application of wound grafts/skin substitutes when clinically indicated.
- Monitor wound healing progress and modify treatment plans as necessary.
- Educate patients and caregivers on wound care techniques, infection prevention, nutrition, and strategies to promote healing.
- Collaborate with physicians, home health agencies, primary care providers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
- Complete accurate, timely, and compliant documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Ensure all patient documentation is completed, electronically signed, and submitted according to company standards.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, Medicare guidelines, state regulations, and company policies.
Qualifications
- Current, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in the State of Texas.
- Wound Care Certification (WCC, CWCN, or equivalent) preferred, or demonstrated experience in wound care management.
- Experience performing wound assessments, debridement, wound graft applications, and advanced wound care procedures preferred.
- Experience using Arobella® ultrasonic wound debridement equipment is preferred but not required.
- Proficient with EMR documentation.
- Strong assessment, clinical decision-making, and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and patient education skills.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining excellent patient care.
- Valid Texas driver's license, current automobile insurance, and reliable personal vehicle required.
- Willingness to travel throughout the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex.
Schedule
- Four (4) days per week.
- Patient schedules are coordinated and provided by the office staff.
- Daily patient routes are organized by ZIP code to maximize efficiency and minimize travel time.
- Providers are expected to follow their assigned schedule while maintaining professionalism and flexibility to accommodate patient care needs.
Compensation
This is a 1099 Independent Contractor position.
Compensation is paid on a per-patient-visit basis and is processed biweekly.
Providers are compensated only for completed patient visits with documentation that is completed, accurate, and electronically signed in accordance with company documentation standards.
Per-visit compensation rates will be discussed during the interview process.

Providers are responsible for using their personal vehicle to travel between patient homes throughout the DFW Metroplex.
