Responsibilities
- Assemble mechanical components and subassemblies using hand tools, power tools, and specialized industrial equipment.
- Interpret blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and manufacturing documents to ensure accurate assembly.
- Measure parts and assemblies with precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to meet strict quality standards.
- Use shop math and fabrication techniques to modify parts as needed, ensuring proper fit and function.
- Operate pneumatic tools, welding equipment, soldering stations, and machining tools safely and effectively.
- Follow safety protocols by properly using personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhering to all safety guidelines during manual handling and assembly tasks.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with workplace safety standards while supporting warehouse operations when necessary.
Skills
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings for mechanical assembly.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, fabrication processes, welding, soldering, and machining techniques.
- Experience with precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools.
- Ability to interpret manufacturing documents and perform shop math accurately.
- Familiarity with the use of hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, specialized industrial tools, and welding equipment.
- Mechanical blueprint interpretation skills combined with a solid understanding of mechanical assembly procedures.
- Knowledge of safety practices including PPE use and manual handling procedures in a manufacturing environment.
- Previous experience in manufacturing or warehouse settings is advantageous for understanding production workflows.
