We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated CNC WALTER Machinist to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will operate and program CNC WALTER machines, specializing in precision metal machining to produce high-quality components. Your expertise in CNC programming, machine setup, and measurement will be essential to ensure the highest standards of accuracy and efficiency. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and are passionate about manufacturing excellence, this opportunity is perfect for you!
Duties
- Set up, operate, and program CNC WALTER machines, including CNC lathe and milling machines, to produce complex parts with precision.
- Interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings accurately using CAD (Computer-Aided Design) and SolidWorks software.
- Utilize CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) programming to develop efficient machining processes and optimize tool paths.
- Perform machine calibration, tooling setup, and adjustments to ensure optimal performance and quality.
- Conduct precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other measurement instruments for quality control.
- Read and interpret GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications to maintain tight tolerances.
- Maintain a clean, safe workspace by following safety protocols related to grinding, welding, hand tools, power tools, and forklift operation when necessary.
- Conduct CNC quality inspections and troubleshoot issues related to M-code (machine code) or G-code programming errors.
- Support lean manufacturing initiatives by identifying opportunities for process improvements and waste reduction.
Skills
- Extensive experience with CNC programming languages such as G-code and M-code for Fanuc or similar controllers.
- Proficiency in operating CNC WALTER machinery along with manual machining skills on lathes, grinders, and other machining tools.
- Strong understanding of blueprint reading, mechanical blueprint interpretation, and GD&T principles.
- Knowledge of electrical discharge machining (EDM) processes is a plus.
- Familiarity with CAD software like SolidWorks and general CAD/CAM integration for machining applications.
- Mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret mechanical blueprints accurately for manufacturing specifications.
- Skilled in measurement techniques using micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, power tools, and measurement instruments for quality assurance.
- Ability to perform machine setup efficiently while adhering to safety standards; experience with CNC lathe and milling machine operations is essential.
- Basic math skills necessary for calculating dimensions, tolerances, and machining parameters.
- Experience with plastics injection molding or metal machining is advantageous but not required.
Join us as a CNC WALTER Machinist if you are eager to bring your technical expertise into a collaborative environment dedicated to manufacturing excellence!
