Support Works is small and growing company seeking a dependable, organized, and outgoing assistant to support the owner in providing employment services to individuals with disabilities.
This position will primarily involve administrative support related to job coaching, including shadowing coaching sessions, writing case notes, researching job opportunities, organizing client information, and assisting with service coordination. The position will also include some on-site job coaching at workplaces and community locations.
We are looking for someone with the “gift of gab” who can comfortably start and maintain conversations with a wide range of personalities. You must be able to make people feel comfortable, build rapport quickly, and adjust your communication style based on the person and situation. Strong writing and computer skills are also essential.
What might a typical day look like?
On one day, you may log in to Zoom and shadow the owner during a virtual job-coaching session. After the meeting, you will review the AI-generated summary and confirm that the meeting notes are complete and accurate. During the session, the owner may assign you a job-search task, such as researching available positions and identifying five suitable job leads based on the client’s interests, abilities, experience, and employment goals.
On another day, you may cover an in-person coaching shift and meet a client with a disability at Habitat for Humanity for a volunteer shift. This may serve as a simulated work experience where you observe how the client follows instructions, completes assigned tasks, and interacts with staff and customers. You will help the client feel comfortable, provide support as needed, and document your observations after the shift.
Employees receive an additional hourly bonus for time spent providing on-site job coaching.
