We are currently seeking a highly organized and dependable Authorization Clerk / Administrative Assistant to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working behind the scenes to keep operations running smoothly while making a meaningful impact in the lives of children and families
Position Summary
The Authorization Clerk / Administrative Assistant plays an essential role in supporting daily office operations by managing insurance authorizations, maintaining accurate documentation, coordinating communication, and assisting with administrative tasks across departments.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Responsibilities
- Process and track insurance authorizations, reauthorizations, and related documentation
- Verify insurance benefits and communicate authorization status to staff and families
- Maintain accurate client records and ensure documentation compliance
- Assist with data entry, filing, scanning, and record management
- Answer phone calls and respond to emails in a professional, friendly manner
- Coordinate with therapists, physicians, and insurance providers
- Monitor deadlines and follow up on pending authorizations
- Support general administrative and office operations as needed
Qualifications
- Previous experience in administrative support, healthcare administration, medical office, or insurance authorization preferred
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and EMR systems
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally
- Experience in pediatric healthcare, home health, or therapy services is a plus
