A well-established specialty design-build contractor is looking to add a Structural (CAD) Designer to their growing team. This organization designs, engineers, fabricates, and installs highly customized architectural systems for some of the most unique commercial projects across the United States. If you enjoy turning architectural concepts into precise construction drawings while collaborating closely with project teams, this could be an excellent opportunity!
- Create detailed project drawings using AutoCAD 2D
- Develop elevations, plans, sections, and construction details
- Review architectural and structural drawings to incorporate the project scope
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, architects, and production teams
- Perform material takeoffs and quantity calculations
- Help resolve design challenges while maintaining project accuracy and timelines
- Continuously learn and adapt to the company's drafting standards and processes
- 3+ years of drafting or design experience
- Proficiency with AutoCAD 2D (AutoCAD 3D is a plus)
- Associate's, Bachelor's, or Technical degree in Drafting, Design, Engineering, or related field preferred
- Ability to read architectural and structural drawings
- Excellent attention to detail
Preferred experience includes:
- REVIT and/or SketchUp experience
- Structural steel or commercial construction background
- Engineering or architectural design experience
- Some understanding of conventional construction
Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
