Traffic Manager

Salary: $66.300 - $75.000
We are seeking an experienced Traffic Manager to oversee daily transportation operations within a fast-paced distribution environment. This leadership role is responsible for coordinating inbound and outbound shipments, managing carrier relationships, optimizing freight movement, and ensuring operational efficiency across the facility.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong transportation, logistics, and team management experience who thrives in a dynamic environment and can effectively balance operational priorities while delivering exceptional service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage daily transportation and traffic operations
- Coordinate inbound and outbound shipment planning and execution
- Optimize load utilization and transportation efficiency
- Monitor carrier performance and key operational metrics
- Ensure compliance with company policies and operational procedures
- Partner with vendors, carriers, and internal departments to support daily operations
- Analyze transportation data and identify opportunities for improvement
- Lead, coach, and develop employees to achieve performance goals
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback
- Resolve operational challenges and service issues in a timely manner
- Maintain accurate reporting and system updates
- Lead daily operational meetings and support continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of transportation, logistics, distribution, brokerage, or 3PL experience
- 2+ years of leadership experience in a Manager, Supervisor, or Lead role
- Knowledge of transportation operations, freight planning, routing, and carrier management
- Understanding of DOT regulations and transportation compliance requirements
- Experience working with Transportation Management Systems (TMS)
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
