Overview
We are seeking enthusiastic instructors who specialize in tutoring language arts and reading to all students. The ability to tutor SAT/ACT is not required but is a plus. We would like to hire someone who is qualified and aspires to teach HS students preparing for college admittance! This is NOT an online tutor position. The candidate must have reliable transportation to the Mandarin location.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Coaching and guiding students to meet their academic goals
- Tutoring multiple subjects effectively
- Strengthening students’ study habits and identifying how each student learns best
- Motivating students who may be discouraged
- Working with up to three students at a time
- Being engaging and professional
- Keeping detailed records of tutoring sessions
- Attending team meetings and other Tutoring Club events
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate's degree from an accredited college/university (or currently enrolled in a degree program leading to a bachelor’s degree)
- 1+ years of previous tutoring experience (not required, but is a plus)
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to work the following: Monday through Thursday from 3:30 pm to 7:30 pm and Saturday from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm
- Ability to commit to one year with Tutoring Club
