About the Role
Are you an enthusiastic educator with a passion for creative arts, cooking, or media production? We are looking for a dynamic, high-energy instructor to lead two exciting after-school enrichment programs for elementary students in Los Gatos: Champion Chefs and CineCraft Kids. You will foster a safe, engaging space where kids develop practical culinary skills, explore visual storytelling, and build team collaboration.
About Our Programs
Champion Chefs
- Introduce elementary students to fall ingredients like apples, pumpkins, and seasonal spices.
- Teach essential, age-appropriate kitchen skills: measuring, safe chopping, stirring, and food prep safety.
- Guide students in making cozy autumn recipes like no-bake pumpkin pies, apple pie snack cups, and veggie pinwheels while sharing fun insights about seasonal harvests.
CineCraft Kids
- Lead a hands-on filmmaking process where students write scripts, act, direct, design props, and operate cameras.
- Guide kids through popular genres—including super hero, sci-fi, and mystery—to help them shape their class film.
- Facilitate team collaboration as students produce a creative project, which is professionally edited into a final keepsake video.
Qualifications and Skills
- The Personality: Enthusiastic, high-energy, and capable of keeping elementary-aged students motivated after the regular school day.
- The Background: Experience in elementary education, youth recreation, culinary arts, theater, or video production.
- The Mindset: Focused on fostering creativity, teamwork, and confidence in a safe, structured environment.
- The Soft Skills: Patience, adaptability, strong classroom presence, and excellent communication skills.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of college education.
- At least 1 year of experience teaching or working with elementary-aged children (Grades 1–5).
- Ability to confidently manage a classroom of up to 20 students.
- Must pass a background check and TB test.
- Reliable transportation to commute to Los Gatos, CA.
- Ability to lift and carry program supplies (up to 20 lbs.).
Compensation & Schedule
- Rate: $25.00 to $30.00 per hour
- Location: Los Gatos, CA
- Program Dates: Fridays, September 18 – November 20
- Schedule: 2:45 PM – 3:45 PM
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
