Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical Insulator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience installing mechanical insulation systems for piping, ductwork, and equipment in commercial and industrial environments. This position requires a strong commitment to quality workmanship, safety, and the ability to work independently while meeting project schedules.
Responsibilities
- Install fiberglass, urethane, and high-temperature insulation on mechanical piping, HVAC ductwork, and system components.
- Fabricate and install a variety of insulation materials for mechanical piping, ductwork, and equipment using industry-standard tools and techniques.
- Fabricate and install PVC and metal jacketing, including elbows and removable covers, to provide durability, weather resistance, and a professional appearance.
- Read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, mechanical specifications, and installation details.
- Follow diagrams, blueprints, and sketches to determine insulation and jacketing requirements.
- Install fire stopping systems in accordance with applicable details, specifications, and installation requirements.
- Ensure a high level of craftsmanship, fit, and finish, particularly in visible or customer-facing areas.
- Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively for cutting, shaping, and securing insulation materials.
Experience
- Previous experience as a Mechanical Insulator or in a related mechanical trade preferred.
- Working knowledge of mechanical piping systems and HVAC ductwork.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and installation instructions.
- Familiarity with insulation materials, mechanical jacketing systems, and fire stopping practices.
- Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Comfortable working at heights, on scaffolding, aerial lifts, and in confined spaces.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, twist, climb, and reach throughout the workday.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds without assistance.
- Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks while maintaining quality and safety standards.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
