Box Truck driving requirements
Prior OTR Box truck expediting driving experience REQUIRED at least 2 years, NON CDL , for hire endorsement-and we prefer Indiana license within reasonsble driving distance to La Porte, Indiana (hiring Kansas City and La Porte, Indiana)
You will be out 2-3 weeks at a time.
Our insurance and DOT require;
- No accidents,no tickets,no DUI, No OWI past 5 years
- Drug testing 100%conducted
- DOT physical required
- Provide a continuous 3 year work history with references
- 2 years box truck driving experience required
Other requirements
- You will be a 10-99 contract driver
- you will depart La Porte, Indiana and must live close.
- Consent will be required to conduct background check
- Must have a smart phone with data for apps shippers require
- Must have a genuine passion for driving and travel
- Have great attention to records
- Have great communication skills
- Be able to be friendly with shippers,dispatchers companies
- Have a lot of patience
- At times you will have to load and unload manually, most freight is no touch
- Willing to obtain steel toed shoes or boots
- Sign a waiver and indemnity agreement
- No smoking
- Have a checking account for direct deposit
- Be knowledgeable with electronic log duty applications
Other$.50 box truck per mile-this job pays by the mile , no guarantee, range $700-$1300 per week, we pay $65 a day toward lodging.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving.
- Complete daily vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues promptly.
- Keep accurate records of trips, including mileage and freight documents.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing any customer inquiries or concerns during transit.
Qualifications
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with team members.
- A clean driving record with no major violations is essential.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, birthdays and all night at times
