Job Description:
Assures highest possible level of visitor and guest satisfaction by providing superior customer service. Responsible for checking guests into and out of the hotel as well as answering phone calls and guest inquiries
Key Responsibilities
- Perform nightly audit of hotel financial transactions and reconcile daily reports
- Check guests in and out in a friendly and professional manner
- Handle guest requests, complaints, and emergencies during the night shift
- Answer phone calls and make reservations as needed
- Prepare and distribute daily reports to management
- Ensure accuracy of cash, credit card, and billing transactions
- Maintain the safety and security of the hotel and guests
- Monitor hotel property and report any suspicious activity
- Assist with basic housekeeping or maintenance coordination if needed
- Keep the front desk area clean and organized
Qualifications
- Previous hotel front desk or customer service experience preferred
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn hotel management systems
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work overnight hours, weekends, and holidays
- Good communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- High school diploma or equivalent required
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand or sit for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs if needed
- Ability to stay alert and attentive during overnight hours
Work Schedule
- Typical shift: 7:00 am to 3:00 pm or 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM
- Must be available for weekends and holidays
Other Responsibilities
- Perform all check-in and check-out tasks
- Manage online and phone reservations
- Inform customers about payment methods and verify their credit card data
- Register guests collecting necessary information (like contact details and exact dates of their stay)
- Welcome guests upon their arrival and assign rooms
- Provide information about our hotel, available rooms, rates and amenities
- Respond to clients’ complaints in a timely and professional manner
- Liaise with our housekeeping staff to ensure all rooms are clean, tidy and fully-furnished to accommodate guests’ needs
- Confirm group reservations and arrange personalized services for VIP customers and event attendees, like wedding guests
- Upsell additional facilities and services, when appropriate
- Maintain updated records of bookings and payments
