SUMMARY
The infusion nurse is responsible for providing skilled nursing services to patients receiving specialty infusion therapy in clinic and at home.(S)he will be responsible for creating an environment of patient-focused care, working within national standards for quality patient care while performing infusions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Monitors the patient's condition and response to therapy, anticipating needs proactively and taking action as needed to facilitate achievement of treatment goals
- Infuses patients with specialty therapies
- Communicates effectively and develops working relationships with the internal and external customers to meet the needs of the patients receiving infusion service
- Establishes trust and builds rapport using therapeutic communication with patient and their families
- Willingness and confidence in your ability to work independently in infusion-suite setting
- Maintains high standards of care
- Manages patients' data and medical records in accordance with HIPAA and company policies
- Interacts with doctors, patients, and family members to meet the patient's needs and care goals
- Possesses in-depth knowledge of infusion therapies and INS standards of practice for patient care
- Has willingness to keep abreast of new developments and evidence-based practice
- Has aptitude in problem-solving
- Adopts and implements innovative nursing practices and communicates them through the proper channels to improve our facility and clinical practice
- Remains in compliance with professional development and regulatory standards
- Ensures compliance with agency, state and federal regulations and standards
- Maintains a healthy, collaborative team environment
REQUIREMENTS:
Covid 19 fully vaccination- Required
- Valid and unrestricted license as a (RN) in the state of MI required.
- Minimum one-year experience in home care/home infusion environment, or 3+ years of experience working as an RN in a clinical care setting that contributes to proficiency in infusion therapy (such as medical surgical unit, emergency department, intensive care unit, post-anesthesia care unit, or similar setting).
- Strong venous access skills; must be able to access peripheral veins without the aid of technology.
- Valid, unrestricted driver’s license in state of residence.
- Access to reliable transportation that will enable travel to infusion suite
- Availability to work occasional weekend or evening shift
- General knowledge of Microsoft Office, G Suites, internet and email
- Home internet access is required.
- Proficient use/navigation of PC.
- Ability to lift and perform repetitive motions.
- Critical care experience strongly preferred.
