Position Summary:
The SQL (Safety, Quality, Lean) Manager is responsible for driving operational excellence by integrating workplace safety, quality management systems (QMS), and Lean continuous improvement methodologies. This role establishes a culture of "Safety First, Quality Always" by eliminating waste, reducing defects, and ensuring full compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., OSHA, ISO). The ideal candidate acts as a strategic leader and hands-on facilitator, coaching teams to optimize processes while mitigating organizational risk.
Job Duties:
Safety

Work with management to ensure organization’s safety compliance
-
Prepare and communicate safety Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and reports

Lead incident investigations, root-cause analysis (RCA’s) and corrective actions plans.

Manage planning and preparedness for Emergency Action and Response at the sites
- Develop, conduct, and audit training, compliance, and on the job execution

Work with Human Resources to manage workers’ compensation claims, return to work programs, and safety claim management

Manage regular job risk assessments and hazard controls, including PPE assessments
Quality
-
Develop, improve, and maintain the site’s Quality Management System (QMS) from order to cash.
- Implement and monitor quality metrics such as non-conformance reports, reducing scrap, rework, and customer complaints.
- Drive compliance, standardization, and Lean practices

Partner with supply chain to audit vendors, resolve customer quality and reliability issues through structured problem-solving techniques.
- Prepare for and represent the Company during internal, customer, and regulatory quality system audits

Partner with manufacturing management team on capital projects focused on improving reliability measures across multiple production facilities

Lean
-
Identify and eliminate waste utilizing lean tools such as Kaizen, VSM, 5S, and Poka-Yoke.
- Implement visual management boards and tier huddle structures to optimize shop-floor performances.

Conduct workshops to verify and mentor employees in Lean Six Sigma and problem-solving techniques such as RCA and 7 statistical tools.
- Montior and report lead time reductions, 5S audit scores, and cost savings from Kaizen events.
Job Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Operations Management, EHS, or related field preferred.
Experience & Skills:
- Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification

Minimum 5 years of work-related experience in lean manufacturing focused on quality and safety improvements.
- Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing and root cause analysis such as 8D, 5 Why, and fish bone analysis.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to influence cross-functional teams without direct authority.
- Deep knowledge of OSHA regulations, ISO standards, and SPC analysis.
- Must successfully complete a criminal background check, drug screen and E-verify
