First Gear Academy is the preschool benefit for employees of Daimler Truck North America, located on Swan Island. Our beautiful center sits on the Willamette River and offers a warm, supportive, team-focused environment where teachers are valued and encouraged to grow.

We are looking for a caring and qualified Infant/Toddler Teacher!
Our Infant/Toddler Teachers provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for young children as they grow and develop. The ideal candidate will have a genuine love for infants and toddlers, patience, and an understanding of the unique needs of this age group.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing warm, responsive care and building strong relationships with children and families
- Supporting children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development
- Planning and providing age-appropriate activities and learning experiences
- Following established health, safety, and classroom procedures
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and engaging classroom environment
- Communicating regularly with families about their child's day and development
- Working collaboratively with fellow teachers and the leadership team
- Supporting children's routines, including meals, diapering/toileting, rest, and transitions
The ideal candidate will have:
- A genuine love and patience for infants and toddlers
- Experience working with young children in a licensed childcare or early learning setting
- Knowledge of infant and toddler development and best practices
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- The ability to create trusting relationships with children and families
- A positive, dependable, and flexible attitude
- Required education and qualifications in accordance with Oregon childcare licensing requirements

- Preschool experience: 1 year (Preferred)
License/Certification:
- Oregon Childcare Background Check (Required)
