Job Summary:
The EADS Group, Inc. has an opening for a full-time, experienced Mechanical Engineer in the Architecture Department of our Somerset, PA Office. Established in 1955, we have grown into an employee-owned, multi-disciplined Engineering, Architecture and Design Services firm with over 250 employees operating out of 9 office locations in Pennsylvania, Maryland and West Virginia.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
- Prepare HVAC and plumbing construction documents including site investigations, drawings, specifications, and reports for commercial, residential, municipal and institutional buildings.
- Design ductwork, natural gas piping, hot/cold water, sanitary, and other HVAC & plumbing plans including associated details, diagrams, and specifications.
- Perform HVAC load calculations, equipment sizing and selections.
- Coordinate with clients, architects, contractors, design team members and support staff.
- Communicate with equipment vendors and manufacturers' representatives for selection and specification of Building Systems equipment.
- Conduct job site observations, surveys and inspections as necessary.
- Manage projects and conduct project meetings with clients.
- Perform construction administration activities and interface with contractors, owners and vendors.
- Collaborate with and mentor engineering and design technicians.
Education and/or Experience:
- B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology from an accredited institution.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in HVAC/Mechanical building system design.
- Experience with AutoCAD is required; Revit software experience is highly preferred.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to plan, organize and prioritize multiple projects.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
License(s) and/or Certification(s):
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) registration is preferred.
- Minimum requirement of Engineer in Training (E.I.T.) certification with ability to obtain P.E. within 1 year.
