Cézanne KC is an event space and art gallery in Kansas City’s Crossroads Arts District. We host weddings, corporate events, private dinners, and exhibitions. We’re part of a small, collaborative hospitality group that includes Sidecar Cocktail Catering Co. and Westport Café.
THE ROLE
You’ll be our Assistant Venue Manager, responsible for the day-to-day operations of Cézanne and coordinating events across both our venue and Sidecar catering. This is a hybrid position: some weeks are steady and operational; others are event-heavy and fast-paced. You’ll manage venue logistics, client communication, event setup and breakdown, vendor coordination, and preparation for Sidecar cocktail catering events.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Day-to-day: Venue opening and closing, maintenance checks, cleaning coordination, calendar management, phone and email inquiries, booking confirmations, social media, and general operations.

Event weeks: Event coordination and timeline management, client check-ins, setup and breakdown supervision, Sidecar event prep and organization, vendor communication, and troubleshooting on the fly.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Bartending, hospitality, or events experience is preferred but not required. You’re organized, detail-oriented, comfortable multitasking, and able to shift between steady operations and high-energy event weeks.
You work in a small team where ownership is hands-on and involved. You understand that in a small operation, you’re expected to take real ownership of your responsibilities—to problem-solve independently and be reliable. You report directly to ownership and communicate clearly.
