Job Title: Legal Assistant / Case Manager — Personal Injury / Wrongful Death / Trucking Company: Daryl Gray Injury Lawyers Location: Downtown Memphis, TN (in-office) Job Type: Full-time, in-office Pay: Competitive salary, based on experience Benefits: Health insurance, 401(k)
About the Role
Daryl Gray Injury Lawyers is a difference maker. We believe justice starts with empathy and concern for our community, and we fight for people who have been wronged or injured with skill, compassion, and fearlessness. We're a boutique trial firm in Memphis focused on serious injury, wrongful death, and trucking personal injury litigation, and we're hiring for a legal assistant / case manager role to join one of our POD-based teams, working in-office at our downtown Memphis location directly alongside a litigation attorney and litigation paralegal. This position blends day-to-day case management — client communication, medical records and billing, treatment tracking — with legal assistant duties like correspondence, calendaring, and filing support, so the attorney can stay focused on strategy, negotiation, and trial.
What You'll Do
· Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the life of their case, providing regular status updates and answering questions
· Request, track, and organize medical records, bills, and liens across all active files
· Monitor client treatment progress and proactively follow up with providers
· Draft and send client, provider, and third-party correspondence under attorney direction
· Calendar deadlines, hearings, depositions, and statute of limitations dates; assist with e-filing and court document preparation
· Coordinate case timelines and deadlines with the POD's litigation attorney and paralegal
· Assist in preparing demand packages and settlement documentation
· Maintain accurate, up-to-date case files in the firm's case management system
· Flag case developments, red flags, or client concerns to the attorney promptly
What We're Looking For
· 2+ years of experience as a case manager, legal assistant, or legal secretary in a personal injury or litigation practice; serious injury, wrongful death, or trucking case experience a strong plus
· Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage a high-volume caseload with attention to detail
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including with clients under stressful circumstances and in drafting correspondence
· Working knowledge of case management software, e-filing systems, and medical records/billing processes
· Comfortable working as part of a small, tight-knit POD team alongside an attorney and paralegal
· High school diploma required; paralegal certificate or relevant college coursework a plus
Firm Culture & Growth Opportunities
Daryl Gray Injury Lawyers is a close-knit, trial-focused team, not a high-volume file mill. You'll work in direct daily contact with your attorney and paralegal, with real input on how your files are run. As an entrepreneurial firm actively expanding into new markets, we offer genuine advancement paths for people who perform: case managers here have a clear track to senior case manager, paralegal, or operations roles as the firm grows, rather than staying capped in a single lane. We invest in your professional development and give you real exposure to litigation and trial work, not just administrative tasks. If you want to build a long-term career with a firm that's scaling and rewards proven performers, this is the place to do it.
Why Daryl Gray Injury Lawyers
· Dedicated POD team structure — you're paired with the same attorney and paralegal, not a shared resource across the firm
· An in office role that broadens your skill set across both case management and legal assistant work
· Boutique trial firm focus on high-value serious injury, wrongful death, and trucking cases
· Modern case management technology already in place
· Entrepreneurial, growth-focused firm culture with a clear path to advancement as we scale
