We are looking for a talented RN or LPN with supervisory experience in geriatric services to direct/manage/support our Wellness Department as the Director of Nursing This will be a unique and exciting opportunity to help maintain an effective Resident Health Services Department within our beautiful and luxurious Senior Living Community.
The successful nurse must have an abiding respect for and knowledge of the elderly and an extraordinary ability to multi-task. With an emphasis on geriatric care management the Director of Wellness is an essential and key position, reporting to the Executive Director.
You must be a Nurse, with proven capabilities in managing a team, developing employee schedules, maintaining charts, overseeing medication administration and creating staff assignments. You must show a proven track record of getting your team working together for the good of the community.
The Director of Nursing will manage the day-to-day 24/7 operations of the Resident Health Services Department, provide leadership, hire, train and schedule staff, develop and coordinate service plans, conduct resident assessments both on and off site in conjunction with the Case Manager, communicate with physicians, residents and families while maintaining regulatory compliance. Our Memory Care Department, which serves our Residents with Alzheimer's and Dementia, is also within the Wellness Department and under the administration of the DON with the support of the Director of Memory Care and Director of Case Management.
Schedule: Tuesday-Saturday 9-5:30PM
Requirements:
- Active NY RN or LPN License
- Knowledge of New York State Department of Health regulations for Adult Home or Enriched Housing is a huge plus
- 4+ years gerontological nursing and administration experience
- Case Management experience a plus
- Excellent people skills and the ability to communicate effectively across diverse audiences
- Successful Management or Supervisory methodology with experience managing a department as well as interviewing, hiring, scheduling and training staff
- Proficient computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Person of integrity with an absolute commitment to Resident care
- Experience in Assisted Living, Home Health or Skilled Nursing Setting
- Sense of humor and composure-under-pressure are key qualities that we look for!
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $130,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
