Requirements and Qualifications:
- Valid, current RN license
- At least one year of recent PACU experience strongly preferred
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required
- Familiarity with post-anesthesia recovery protocols, pain management, and respiratory interventions
- Excellent assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic clinical environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and assess patients during post-anesthesia recovery; rapidly identify and intervene in any complications
- Administer medications, fluids, and treatments as prescribed
- Accurately document patient status, interventions, and responses to care
- Educate patients and family members about post-operative care and discharge instructions
- Collaborate with surgical and anesthesia teams to ensure continuity and quality of care
- Maintain equipment and supplies within the PACU according to safety and infection control guidelines
