The Role
We're looking for a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to serve as the primary nurse at a single comprehensive high school in the Ontario / Inland Empire area (San Bernardino County) this fall. You'll be the health office for this campus - caring for students day to day, completing health assessments for students with disabilities, and keeping the site compliant and ready.
This is a full-time, short-term assignment with the possibility of an extension, but the assignment formally ends on October 9th.
What You'll Do
- Serve as the site nurse for one comprehensive high school campus
- Provide day-to-day health office coverage and student care
- Complete health assessments for students with disabilities (IEP / 504)
- Oversee medication administration and support staff on health-related needs
- Develop and maintain individual health plans and emergency care plans
- Consult with school staff and families on student health and safety
- Respond to health emergencies and document accurately per California Ed Code
What You Need (Required)
- Active California LVN license
- Availability for the full assignment window (see schedule below)
- Ability to clear the required background check (DOJ/FBI fingerprinting), TB clearance, and current CPR/BLS
Nice to Have (Preferred)
- Prior experience as a site or district school nurse
- Prior experience with first aid and emergencies
- Experience with IEP / 504 health assessments and meetings
- High school or secondary campus experience
Schedule
- Assignment dates: August 5 - October 9, 2026 (potential extension through late October)
- Full-time, Monday through Friday, on-site at one campus
- Regular days: 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM
- Fridays: 9:30 AM - 3:20 PM
- Non-service days: September 7 and October 5
- No nights. No weekends. No Holidays. This is a school-day schedule.
Compensation
$57.50/hr
