Responsibilities
- Regularly patrol designated dog parks, walking paths, and outdoor spaces to identify and remove pet waste promptly.
- Use proper animal handling techniques to approach dogs safely while managing pet owners’ cooperation.
- Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding waste removal policies and best practices for responsible pet care.
- Maintain cleanliness of waste disposal stations, including replenishing supplies and ensuring proper disposal of collected waste.
- Assist with pet coat styling, grooming, nail trimming, and basic animal care tasks as needed to support overall pet well-being.
- Handle animal restraint safely when necessary to facilitate cleaning or other activities without causing stress or harm.
- Report maintenance issues or safety concerns in the area to management immediately to ensure a safe environment for all visitors.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in dog training, veterinary technician work, veterinary assisting, or animal handling is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability in pet grooming, coat styling, nail trimming, and animal restraint techniques.
- Strong knowledge of animal care practices including pet sitting, kennel experience, and heavy lifting of supplies or waste.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with pet owners and providing friendly customer service.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions while maintaining energy and enthusiasm throughout the day.
- Physical capability for prolonged walking, standing, bending, lifting heavy objects, and performing active duties safely.
- Experience with equine handling or veterinary experience is a plus but not required.
