The person in this position maintains records of materials in inventory and on order. Provides information to determine the status of current orders and to forecast needs for future orders. Compiles records of amount, type, and value of material or stock on hand. Monitors reorder points, and initiates action to replenish stock. Reconciles discrepancies in inventories. Notifies supervisor of irregularities and when stock reaches designated reorder point. Compiles information on receipt or disbursement of inventories and computes inventory balances, prices and costs. Operates a personal computer and appropriate software packages or its equivalent. 0-2 years of experience in this position. Applies basic skills and procedures appropriate for the position within assigned functional area. Duties and tasks are standardized. Resolves routine questions and problems and refers more complex issues to higher levels. Works under direct supervision and follows standard procedures to accomplish assigned tasks.
Record inventory data manually or on a computer or handheld electronic device
Receive, count, and verify incoming orders
Label stock items with labeling equipment such as identification tags or stamps
Pack and unpack items for storage in stockrooms
Operate dollies or carts for moving stock items
Process transfer requests, requisitions, or purchase orders
Distribute products or materials to store shelves, co-workers, or customers
Assist and direct temporary or volunteer employees in their daily duties
Coordinate with other staff members to accomplish large tasks efficiently
Process damaged or defective stock per Shop protocol
Report malfunctioning or damaged stock-handling equipment to management
Maintain accurate records
Prepare documents and reports for transactions
Keep stockrooms neat and orderly
Order merchandise as assigned
Other duties as assigned by senior management team
